So I’ve been thinking alot about photography lately. In general, for quite a few reasons. I’ve decided to do my senior project on photography, I‘m waiting for the call to come and get my senior portraits, I’ve realized how I haven’t taken pictures in a long time. A month is a long time for me to not take pictures, other than with my phone. I have been on Google a lot, looking for controversies over photography and photoshop, and it’s not that hard, but a lot of the information is all the same. So I’m definitely going to be using a lot of my knowledge of the subjects to prove my point that too much manipulation takes away from the pitcure, it’s quality, and the photography aspect of it.
I am a high school senior, I bet you’ve figured that out by now, but I did Senior Modeling, along with my Senior Portraits, so I got to see a lot more into the business of photography, but I always want to see more. Of course I do! But I definitely still want to pursue photography, and most of everything that comes with it, I just love it. But I haven’t taken pictures in a month or so, and hoenstly, I hate it. I just want to have more imagination, ideas, anything. I need to be in a creative mood soon and take pictures. Most people calm theirselves or relieve stress by working out, sleeping, listening to music, eating their feelings and more. But one of my ways is to photograph. I get so excited when I get that one shot that is just perfect, to me, at least.
During my Freshman year, I took Photography 1 & 2, then my Sophomore year I took Advanced Photography 3 & 4, and my Junior year I took AP Photography 5. I went from taking pictures every week, weekend, bi-weekly, through the week, I took pictures ALL the time. Now that there’s no photo classes above 5, I am not in any. I’d rather take more classes once I get to college/not take 5 over again, than to go through photo 5 again to learn the same stuff over again. Plus I have to get 2 credits under my feet to graduate so I have no room for photo anyways. And I’m in AP Spanish 4. I mean, I made it through Spanish 1, 2, and 3, so why not do the fourth year and have it on my transcripts for college applications?! On top of having Photography 1-5! All I need to do is keep my grades up, and I’ll hopefully show a good motivation on my transcript. My transcript for my last 3 years of high school is horrible, starting 2nd semester of freshmen year my grades went down the toilet. So if I can get really good grades my senior year and raise my GPA, I will be a very happy camper. I just hope I can do at least that!
Just my thoughts today while working on my bibliography for my senior project.
Adios!
