The new addition to my family.

This is Tian Augustine Abercrombie, he is [technically] my new little nephew! He was born on August 3rd,[ this summer] and he is probably the cutest baby ever. And I’m not just saying that because I’m one of MAYBE 3 people who can make him stop crying… :) These are pictures that I took for the baby announcements when he was about 3 days old.  Here’s the little cutie :)

(on the left): Jesse [dad] is holding his right foot, and (on the right): KaSarah [mom] is holding his left  foot. This is my favorite foot picture of the ones I took, and I think it looked better in black and white, it created more emotion.

The cute little bugger.  It took him FOREVER to open his eyes for these pictures. Now they’re always open and he smiles and giggles all the time.

“ooh no way!”

haha, gotta love the tongue sticking out. “take that daddy!”

Curled toes! His feet were and are pretty big!

I think he was sneezing, actually.

More toes!

He’s  just hypnotized.. don’t worry. :P

“What’chu lookin at?”

INSPIRATION: Bella Baby ! I chose this photographer because most of my pictures are close-ups of the face and so are the pictures on this site/blog. Most of their pictures are really cute, and that’s exactly what I was aiming for, I think I took some cute pictures of Tian. And the pictures are smiliar, they’re mostly of babies laying down, just looking, and being cute like babies do!

  1. When looking at inspiration, don’t just go for cute or not… take it step further on the photography realm. What type of light is being used for the portraits? Is it harsh, soft, does the light cover all of the face, just some of it, how is light used as a subject in the images?

Really dissect the images that you are looking at, I know you can do it, and then create your images based off of that dissection.

The black and white editing on the first image is very nice. I am not sure that it creates more emotion, but it does make the viewer focus more on the subject.. the other images the color of the clothes, etc. become part of the image and what the viewer looks at.

Be sure to shoot new photos for each new project. If these were shot when he was 3 days old these were not shot for this project, these should have been on your first post of summer things.

  2. I love your portrait work outside! Wow. You have done an incredible job photographing these girls and I think that portraits are definitely your strong point. The one thing I’m not fond of is the blurry baby swing. It frustrates me that I cannot see the baby. overall, you have done a great job!

  3. Your pictures are pretty good, but something doesnt make me really like them like i like the other ones. Im not saying your pictures are bad. Your pictures are actually really good. I like the beging ones with the purple. The purple pops out and thats what i like about the picture. The other one that i really like is the baby photos. The baby by itself is so adorable and it makes the photo a good photo. The first black and white one of the baby is a very good picture. I love how you did black and white. The picture of the babys feet, I like how its focused on the babys feet and its blurry in the background. Overall I think you did a very good job!

  4. I like your photos. they are kinda hard to see because some are really blurry. But your doing a great job on taking pictures for the ones i could see. My favorite photo of yours is the one of the babies feet.

  5. These photos are really cute. The only think I don’t like about them is they are all at the same angle. I think they would have been better if you could have shot at different angles. My favorite picture is the black and white picture of the feet. I love this picture because of the angle and how you changed the color to black and white.

  6. Aww he’s super cute. i do like the black and white one it adds a little something to focus on the feet. i think the lighting on some of them could of been better. like some could of been more lighter and with some the light was a little harsh. but other then that good job on a lot of them the light was really good. keep up the good work!

  7. Your pictures are good. I would try to work on when your taking blur pictures trying to get at a focus spot if possible. The photoshopping on the serial photo was very good.

  8. Your photos are really nice. I like the portrait type pictures. I think you did those really well. I also like your up close macro pictures of the baby. those are really nice. I don’t really like the pictures with motion in them. They don’t really make sense, and the pictures of the kids jumping. Maybe if you had them jump at the same time it”d be better.

  9. The photos look great! The portraits are great and you got pretty dang lucky on the photoshop with how well the shadows worked out! I would have worked a lot more on the motion blur, because its never really good to take portraits of people using motion blur.
